Deze breakout-kabel wordt vaak gebruikt om de datasignalen van verschillende kanalen die geconcentreerd zijn in de MPO-connector te scheiden naar LC-connectoren. Daardoor kunnen de LC-connectoren gemakkelijk op andere verbindingen worden aangesloten.
